Al Pacino Starring in Adaptation of Malcolm Gladwell's Blink

Al Pacino is in talks for the lead role in the indie feature "Blink" for says Risky Biz Blog."Traffic" scribe Stephen Gaghan is adapting and directing the film version of Malcolm Gladwell's nonfiction bestseller with several younger actors circling the other lead role.

For those unfamiliar with Blink, the book is Malcolm Gladwell's very popular exploration into how we make snap judgments. "Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant - in the blink of an eye - that actually aren't as simple as they seem."

The story centers on the relationship between an older man (Pacino) and the twentysomething son he was never close to.

The two reconnect early on in the film, and the boy, an idealistic drifter who's teaching in a downtown New York school, and the father, a finance type living in Connecticut, must navigate their new relationship.The son has a special gift: he can size up people and situations on a dime. The Pacino character spots this, and both wants to help the boy find himself and use him to make some dough on Wall Street.

(  이번 영화는 관계가 서먹한   한  아버지< 알 파치노역 > 와  20대 아들 사이의 관계를 다룬다고 한다. 이 둘은  다시 재회를 한다. 아들은  뉴욕의  한 학교에서  교욱을  받고 있고 , 코넷티컷에서 월가 스타일의 삶을  살고 있는 아버지는 그들의 관계를  재조정해야 한다. 그러나 아들에게는 '블링크 ' 같은 특별한 재능이 있다.  즉 말하자면 ,  즉시 사람들과 상황을  순간적으로 판단하는 능력이 있다. 아버지는  아들의  이러한 능력을 이용해  월가에서 돈을  벌기로 한다는 내용이다.)

Risky Biz calls it "Scent of a Woman with a finance-y twist — colorful, self-involved older guy mentoring younger ingenue for reasons both selfless and selfish."Though originally setup at Universal, the film is taking the indie route and is being shopped around at Cannes with production ready to start as early as the fall.
